NEC Nijmegen have been boosted by the news that Socceroo Brett Holman's ankle injury is not as serious as they had feared.
Australia striker Holman sustained the injury during Sunday's Eredivisie victory against Willem II and was taken to hospital immediately after the game.
"They suspect that there is a problem with the ankle tendon," Holman told De Gelderlander newspaper.
"My foot was locked when I tried to walk, because of that my ankle twisted. I immediately felt that it was not right. I wanted to play on, but every step hurt."
However, coach Mario Been expects to have Holman back in for action in two or three weeks and is eager for the striker to miss Australia's clash with China on October 13.
