The three-time champions have come under heavy scrutiny following last weekend’s 4-0 capitulation in Newcastle but responded on Saturday with their first win of the season.

“I think it changes a lot of things,” Holman told Fox Sports.

“It was a tough week considering what happened to us last week in Newcastle.

“To back up for a second week on the road, it was a gutsy performance and we put everything into it.”

O'Donovan: Our worst yet

Brisbane spurned multiple chances to seal a more comfortable victory but survived a few tense late moments to narrowly prevail.

Holman admitted his relief at heading back to Brisbane with all three points.

“We should have put the game away to be honest in the second-half,” he said.

“When it’s 1-0 they’re going to go for everything.

“We had a couple of great chances (and) at 1-0 up it’s a little bit scary but thankfully we got through it.”
