SOCCEROO star Brett Holman was instrumental in AZ Alkmaar's 2-1 victory over Feyenoord at the AFAS Stadion and played a key role in both his domestic side's goals.
Feyenoord's last away game ended in a disastrous 10-0 trouncing at the hands of PSV, and despite a far more solid defensive performance they failed to stop Holman.
The midfielder scored on the stroke of half-time and set up Italian Graziano Pelle for AZ's second. Feyenoord's Luc Castaignos struck with 20 minutes remaining, but the hosts held on for the win.
An injury-time equaliser from Gerson Sheotahul earned Willem II just their second point of the season in a 2-2 draw against Roda JC.
Sheotahul's late intervention robbed Roda of the chance to move into fourth on the Eredivisie table and they were left to rue several missed chances throughout the game.
Willem Janssen opened the scoring for Roda after just nine minutes but Andreas Lasnik replied soon afterwards.
Janssen's second appeared to have wrapped up the points for the hosts before Sheotahul's late strike earned Willem a rare point.
In other matches, Lex Immers' strike gave ADO Den Haag a 1-0 win over FC Utrecht, while NEC Nijmegen and Vitesse Arnhem played out a goalless draw.
