The Socceroos take on Uzbekistan overnight tomorrow as the latest match on their road to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

But despite Uzbekistan's disappointing performance away from home, Holman says the squad are on their guard against meeting a very different challenge in Tashkent.

"I don't think you should look at results they have played in the last couple of matches," he said.

"We should worry about ourselves and how we're going to play the game and look forward to the game.

“I know that Uzbekistan have a good team, otherwise they wouldn't have qualified for the second round. "

He added: “We've had one training session and we'll get stuck into it the day before the game, and hopefully come home with three points."

Holman added that he is pleased by the weather conditions on arrival into Tashkent, currently 17C and clear with low humidity..

Australia needs to finish in the top two of its group to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup at the completion of this round in June 2009.

The match will be broadcast live and exclusive on FOX Sports 3 from 1.30am on Thursday.

The Qantas Socceroos play their first home game of the series when they meet joint group leaders Qatar in Brisbane on 15 October.
