BRETT Holman's AZ Alkmaar grabbed a last minute goal to gain a point at the death against EPL side Arsenal.
Cesc Fabregas gave Arsene Wenger's side the lead in their Champions League Group H match against AZ Alkmaar - but the Dutch side made Arsenal pay for missed chances when they levelled three minutes into injury-time through David Mendes Da Silva.
Socceroo Brett Holman started and played the first 72 minutes before being replaced by Graziano Pelle.
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen was left rueing his team's luck: "We were in control, there were no big chances for AZ but in the last minute they scored. It feels like a defeat.
"But when you are 1-0 in front you are not comfortable - it's always risky."
Arsenal had claims for a penalty turned down in the closing stages when Carlos Vela went down in the AZ area.
And Vermaelen added: "I think we should have had a penalty, from my point of view - but maybe I was too far away."
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger added on Sky Sports Xtra: "We are frustrated because we felt superior to this team.
"We had a good performance but we couldn't take our chances and got caught in the final minute.
"In the Champions League you need focus for 93 minutes - tonight we made one mistake and paid for it."
