The bottom-placed Baggies dismal form away from the Hawthorns continued when they were beaten 2-0 at Fulham on Sunday - their 10th defeat in 13 away games this season.

But they have a series of home games in the next couple of months against the likes of Bolton, Stoke and Sunderland which Mowbray feels will have a big impact on whether or not they make an instant return to the Coca Cola Championship.

He said: "There are going to be no shortage of massive games of cup-tie intensity between now and the end of the season.

"At home is where we will need to take the majority of our points in the coming months because it is so difficult to come away with anything on your travels in this league.

"We won three home Premier League games in a row for the first time by defeating Manchester City, Tottenham and Middlesbrough, although the last match at home against Newcastle was a massive disappointment.

"I think we will win games at home and when I look at the fixture list, I see teams coming to the Hawthorns in the next couple of months we have a chance of beating.

"We have games against teams who are in and around us in the table to take on at home which will have a big say on where our season goes.

"But we will also probably have to try and sneak another away win down the line as well."

Mowbray believes the inexperience of the Albion squad at Premier League level, particularly in defence, is a key factor.

He said: "We have only five or six players who have played in the Premier League like Jonathan Greening, Paul Robinson, Neil Clement, James Morrison, Abdoulaye Meite and Scott Carson.

"I'm feeling our inexperience, especially in defence."
