AUSSIES ABROAD: In-form Socceroo Scott Chipperfield scored again as FC Basel celebrated winning the Swiss Schweizer Pokal with a 6-0 win over Lausanne overnight.
The 34-year-old Australian took his season goal tally to 12 when he converted Xherdan Shaqiri's cross on 52 minutes.
Chipperfield's strike made the scoreline 4-0 early in the second-half, as Basel dominated from start to finish.
The Socceroo, who started up front, saw a sixth minute chance saved before Valentin Stocker and Shaqiri broke through in the first-half.
There were further goals in the second-half from Jacques Zoua and Benjamin Huggel, while Stocker completed a double.
Chipperfield, who was replaced on 67 minutes, will now hope to secure a Swiss double with the Super League title still up for grabs.
In Belgium's Pro League promotion/relegation playoffs, Nikita Rukavytsya continued his good recent form with a goal as KSV Roeselare defeated KVSK United 2-1.
The young World Cup hopeful swooped in the 68th minute to equalize after United had gone ahead early in the second-half.
On 81 minutes, Rukavytsya went close to clinching the win when he hit the crossbar, but Bjarni Vidarsson grabbed a late winner for Roeselare.

In Turkey's Super Lig, Australian goalkeeper Michael Petkovic put in a full shift as Sivasspor drew 1-1 at Eskisehirspor to ensure they retain their top flight status. Sivasspor took an early lead, but Petkovic failed to hang onto a long-range free-kick allowing Veysel Sari to equalize on the rebound.

In Norway's Tippeligaen, Socceroo Jade North was an unused sub again, with key men returning to the Tromso side which defeated Start 1-0 as they extended their league lead to five points.
