MANCHESTER City manager Mark Hughes has boosted his defensive options after the club completed a deal to sign Vincent Kompany from Hamburg for an undisclosed fee.
The Belgium international has signed a four-year deal at Eastlands and the club hope to complete the relevant paperwork to enable him to be available for their Premier League clash with West Ham on Sunday.
Kompany began his career with Anderlecht before he moved to Hamburg in June 2006.
The 22-year-old was involved in the Belgium side which reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games and becomes Mark Hughes' third major signing for the club.
