Newcastle boss Chris Hughton will make a late decision on whether or not to include Sol Campbell in the squad for Sunday's clash with former club Arsenal.
The 36-year-old has trained all week after recovering from a thigh injury, but will have to wait until the last moment to discover if he will travel.
Steven Taylor is likely to be included after making the bench for last weekend's derby victory over Sunday following his return from a shoulder problem, while Leon Best (ankle) will resume training on Monday.
However, Steve Harper (shoulder), Hatem Ben Arfa (double leg fracture) and Dan Gosling (knee) remain on the sidelines.
Provisional squad: Krul, Soderberg, R. Taylor, Simpson, Perch, Ferguson, Enrique, Coloccini, Williamson, S. Taylor, Campbell, Kadar, Smith, Tiote, Barton, Routledge, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Vuckic, Tavernier, Donaldson, Nolan, Carroll, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Ranger.
