Newcastle Jets told Perth Glory they felt it unlikely they could field a competitive side for the game with many key players unavailable through national duties, injuries or pre-booked holidays.

Jets' parent company Tinkler Sports Group also claimed there were issues with stadium availability on the likely dates.

The tour looked to have been put in danger of being cancelled but Melbourne Victory are said to have expressed an interest .

Promoter Lou Sticca today revealed a line of clubs were keen on playing the Bhoys but warned the price had to be right to make it worth their while.

"Celtic have a number of  offers to tour for July 2011," he said today.

"They enjoyed Australia in 2009 so that is fresh in their minds but it will always come down to commercial considerations and their global strategy.

"I have great interest from Perth Glory and other clubs on the eastern seaboard so i remain hopeful we will put up a good case for Celtic's consideration."
