Janjetovic made the controversial switch from sky blue to red and black hoops in December after falling behind Danny Vukovic at Allianz Stadium.

Less than a month later, Janjetovic took goal for Wanderers in the derby in front of Sydney supporter group The Cove, who pelted him with plastic toy snakes.

There was also a banner labelling the 29-year-old keeper a “snake” for the move.

“For me it was just a bit of banter,” Janjetovic said almost three weeks after the 0-0 derby draw which he handled amiably.

“I was always going to expect something. Leading up to the game you hear a lot of different things.

“You just try to stay out of it and focus on the game at hand. I think I did that pretty well that night.”

Igniting the situation was Janjetovic’s rant on social media just prior to the turn of the year, when he claimed he wasn’t wanted and was poorly treated by Sydney coaching staff.

Janjetovic also spent his final month with the Sky Blues on stress leave, but insisted he left the club on good terms.

“Everyone’s got their own opinion about it,” he said.

“I’ve spoken to everyone there and we left on good terms.

“Everyone is going to perceive it differently, that’s up to them. I know I left on good terms.”
