A limited lead-up combined with a shocking injury toll didn’t help Roar’s cause as they were put to the sword by the Sky Blues who enjoyed two extra days preparation as Graham Arnold celebrated his 100th A-League game as Sydney FC coach in style.

“Every game is going to be some dangerous moments from the opposition but I thought it was a convincing result and it could have been more at half-time which would have killed off the second-half,” Arnold told Fox Sports.

“Brisbane had a short turnaround and they kept fighting.

“…We were ruthless at times tonight and as the game opens up we have so much quality to hurt teams and it could have been a much bigger result.”

Bobo was first to score for the Sky Blues after superb build-up work via a deft kick from Milos Ninkovic which he slotted with precision for a 1-0 17th-minute lead.

“For me that’s why you bring foreigners to Australia,” Arnold said of the pair.

“If they’re not going to make a big difference then you’re better of using Australian players. They are obviously exceptional players.”

Adrian Mierzejewski added another goal in the 50th-minute before David Carney put the game beyond doubt four-minutes from full-time.

Sydney have now scored the most points ever for an A-League team after 15 rounds, however Arnold is far from content.

“For me it’s about getting to 50 points as soon as possible and if you get to 50 points then you are in the top two for sure,” Arnold said.

“We don’t talk about position and we don’t talk about the opposition, we just talk about ourselves and get to 50 points as quick as we can.”

Roar coach John Aloisi disagreed with Arnold and said his side were closer than the score line suggested.

“Between the two boxes I think we competed really well and created a few openings but just lacked that goal to give us a lift and they got their goal probably on their first chance and that was the difference tonight,” Aloisi said.

“We will start to get players back in this week and it’s pretty hard when you’ve got 10 players out every week.

“But in saying that we took it to them, we didn’t sit off and gave them a good game and the 3-0 score line really flatters them.”
