The Chelsea coach was unhappy with Graham Poll when the two clubs met in their league game at Spurs earlier in the season and claimed that Mike Riley gave Martin Jol's team too many decisions in their favour during a thrilling 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Poll displeased Mourinho after chalking off a goal by Didier Drogba and then dismissing captain John Terry but the Chelsea boss remains convinced about the integrity of English officials.

Mourinho said: "For me every referee is good. We were unlucky twice against Tottenham - once with Mr Poll and once with Mr Riley.

"I trust every referee. I know every referee wants to do the best. He has to be honest like everyone is. My deep feelings are that everybody is honest. He needs a little bit of luck to be a good ref.

"The reason why we lost the league game was that we scored a clear second goal. The result should be 2-0 but the referee disallowed the goal.

"A couple of minutes later 2-0 was transformed into 1-1 and we also lost our captain but we can do nothing about that, it is the past. It is a different game now. We believe we have a team to go there and win the game.

"I like to play against Tottenham - every game is a good one. The only thing I hope for is another good game and that the referee will be at the level of both teams."

Chelsea despatched Sheffield United 3-0 on Saturday to keep six points behind Manchester United at the top of the Barclays Premiership.

They were given a dream start by Andriy Shevchenko, who scored the opener inside three minutes, and German international Michael Ballack, who added the third, says they must repeat that kind of start against Spurs.

Chelsea have been forced to come from behind against Arsenal in the Carling Cup final, twice against Porto in the Champions League and against Spurs in the home tie.

Ballack said: "For the fans it's fantastic when it's 3-3, or 4-3, but we made a lot of mistakes against Spurs and our coach was not happy.

"We have been coming back from a goal down a lot recently but Chelsea are a team with a lot of power, physical strength and character. That is our big strength and we know that when we go a goal down, we can come back.

"But we don't want it to be every time because we need a lot of power and maybe we will lose this during the season. So it's good we scored after a few minutes against United.

"That is the best thing for every team when you score early so you can control the game, play with good possession and go from the defence. We have fast strikers so that is perfect."
