TuttoMercatoWeb has reported that there's been interest from Salernitana following manager Alberto Bollini's re-appointment in the Sydney-born 22-year-old.

The six-time Socceroo, who hasn't been part of the past three Australia camps, has also been linked with Serie B pair Carpi and Venezia.

Ikonomodis is currently owned by Lazio but needs another loan switch for first-team football in 2017-18, after spending last term at Danish club AGF Aarhus, netting one goal in 16 appearances.

The Sydney-born attacker also spent the second half of the 2015-16 season on loan with Salernitana, making 14 appearances and scoring once.

However, Ikonomidis' time at Salernitana was soured after he decided to go on Australia duty for friendlies against England and Greece while the club battled in the relegation play-offs.

Bollini wasn't in charge during Ikonomidis' previous spell but is keen to add an attacking winger to the squad.

Salernitana, who finished the 2016-17 Serie B campaign in 10th, have a relationship with Lazio which could facilitate the move.
