Working with the club in a two week coaching role, Kluivert ran attacking drills with the team's strikers before bringing the rest of the squad together at the end of training.

And what the Netherlands' all-time leading scorer saw on the training paddock more than convinced him the Roar's recent woes would soon be forgotten history.

"I see a very talented group with a lot of prospect for the future," Kluivert said. "I saw some very good and positive players doing the things I wanted to see.

"There a few players who have a really bright future and I see a very competitive team."

Working closely with the Roar's attacking players, Kluivert will impart a wealth of knowledge garnered from playing in some of Europe's best leagues.

"It's difficult to bring something that quick but I will try to do my best," Kluivert said. "Most of the things will be directly for the striker s and the outside players."

Introduced to Roar fans in a blaze of fireworks before the team's victory against Sydney FC last weekend, Kluivert quickly settled into life as part of the club's coaching staff.

During the tense game, Kluivert was an emotive figure on the sidelines, unable to contain his delight as Sergio van Dijk nailed the winning goal.

"I didn't see the games before but the game against Sydney in my vision was very good," Kluivert said. "It was really nice to see the boys play."

Despite joining the Roar in a coaching capacity, questions are still being raised concerning the chances of Kluivert pulling on the Roar jersey next season.

However, Kluivert was adamant his present focus was working with the squad and ensuring the Roar have a successful end to the season.

"I'm out here for the training ... the most important thing is I'm doing my thing for the players," he said. "I'm here to give the boys some education in football."
