Paul Ince has no doubt Grella can walk the walk but he also wants plenty of talk from the former Torino man – helping the club’s younger players to benefit from his experience.

Grella enjoyed an eventful Premier League debut for Rovers – booked in the opening seven minutes and substituted at the interval - but Ince believes he has acquired a player whose influence can really rub off in the Blackburn dressing room.

Ince told Rovers official website: “Vince is a very good footballer, technically excellent with the ability to hold things together and pass the ball well with either foot.

“You don’t play that many games for your country or last that long in Serie A unless you can hack it. He has a lot of experience too and is a leader.

“Vince will be a voice around the place, on the pitch and in the dressing room and I think that’s important.”
