Sorrento FC 3
ECU Joondalup 0
Sorrento moved into the top five for the first time this season after thumping ECU Joondalup 3-0 on Friday night at Percy Doyle Reserve.
After a disappointing first half which left fans questioning why they came to the game instead of watching the Royal Wedding, the game came to life in the second half.
Referee Tim Mihevc issued a second yellow card to ECU’s Mark Tebbutt in the 48th minute after a challenge on Ryan Pearson.
Sorrento took the lead a minute later through Adam Luca and cruised to the victory from there, with goals from David Foster in the 78th minute and Shaun Timmins in the 88th minute putting gloss on the performance.
Armadale SC 0
Perth SC 1
Perth SC narrowly edged Armadale 1-0 at Alfred Skeet Reserve to secure their sixth consecutive win.
A goal from Vlad Naumovski after 60 minutes was all that separated the sides.
The defeat leaves Armadale second from bottom, while Perth go into next week’s top of the table clash with Balcatta with plenty of momentum.
Cockburn City 0
Mandurah City 2
Mandurah City secured their first win for over a month with a 2-0 success over Cockburn City at Dalmatinac Park.
Dash opened the scoring for Mandurah in the 25th minute.
Christian Pasckewitz doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.
The result leaves Cockburn rooted to the bottom of the table with only one win from eight matches.
Floreat Athena FC 3
Bayswater City 0
Floreat Athena won for the second consecutive week after a convincing 3-0 display at home to Bayswater City at E & D Litis Stadium.
Ante Kovacevic’s side did the damage in the first half, with Mark Pritchard opening the scoring in the eighth minute of the game.
Liam Boland doubled Athena’s advantage in the 31st minute while Michael Van Dongen completed the rout in first half stoppage time.
The result sees Bayswater drop out of the top five.
Western Knights 1
Inglewood United 4
Inglewood United capped off an incredible month after hammering the Western Knights 4-1 at Nash Field.
It saw them record their third consecutive victory and means they have scored 13 times in their last three games.
Rory Grant began the destruction in the 12th minute.
He then had a fantastic opportunity to double his side’s lead in the 26th minute but he failed from the penalty spot.
From them on it was the Ndumba Makeche show as he scored in the 34th minute, before adding strkes in the 44th and and 52nd minutes to seal a fine hat-trick.
The Knights scored a consolation goal in stoppage time through Branimir Mikulic.
It means the Knights have conceded 10 goals in their past two games.
Balcatta SC 4
NTC 3
Balcatta defeated the NTC 4-3 in a thriller at Grindleford Reserve.
To the surprise of many, the NTC even lead the game 3-2 at one point.
NTC matches are not contested for points and therefore their results are not tabulated.
