FORGOTTEN man Danny Invincibile is pondering his next club move as he battles to catch Pim Verbeek's eye and avoid being so close and yet so far in the Socceroo stakes.
The 29-year-old Kilmarnock star is back in Australia on holiday and doesn't believe it's too late to earn a senior cap for his country.
The former Brisbane Strikers and Marconi Stallions player was part of the 1999 Under 20 World Cup squad in Nigeria, a squad that included Mile Sterjovski, Mark Bresciano, Vince Grella and Jason Culina.
After three years with English League One side Swindon Town, Invincibile joined Scottish Premier League Kilmarnock in 2003.
He has been close to an international call on several occasions, only to miss out. On one occasion he had even been told to board a plane the next day, only to be stood down.
Now he could be set to move again in order to catch Pim Verbeek's eye. The Brisbane-born player told the Courier Mail: "I sometimes feel I'm a little bit forgotten about.
"The problem with the Scottish Premier League is that you've got the two big clubs (Celtic and Rangers) and the rest are hidden.
"You don't see a lot of the other teams' games, which is unfortunate."
Invincibile has another year to run on his current deal but he has an open mind about the future.
He said: "I don't want to count any options out. All the clubs that have shown an interest have been great.
"I'm open to anything.
"The one thing you want to do before your career finishes is play for the Socceroos.
"I've just been so close and yet so far away. It's good to say that you've been considered, but sometimes you just want that chance."
