The AFC has confirmed the Socceroos’ 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Iraq will be played on neutral territory at the PAS Stadium in Tehran, Iran on March 23.
The match will mark the first time the Socceroos have played in Tehran since the 1997 FIFA World Cup Qualifier which ended 1-1 in front of more than 110,000 fans.
The Socceroos will then travel to Sydney to take on the United Arab Emirates in what is shaping as a pivotal international window.
The Socceroos among four teams within one point at the top of Group B at the halfway stage of qualifying.
The match in Iran will kick off at 4.30pm (11pm AEDT).
