Birmingham's on-loan Arsenal midfielder Fabrice Muamba will hold talks with Arsene Wenger in the next 48 hours to determine where his future lies.
Muamba has played a major part in Blues regaining their Barclays Premiership status at the first attempt.
City boss Steve Bruce has made it clear he would like to sign Muamba - who has one year left of his current Gunners contract - on a permanent basis.
But the likes of Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Reading have also been linked with the 19-year-old.
Muamba said: "I have got a meeting with Mr Wenger in a couple of days time about my future and then we will know something.
"It was always going to be one of the hardest decisions I have to make. I need to sit down with my family and my advisor and we will see what happens. I haven't made my mind up.
"It is fair to say I would have more chance of first-team football at Birmingham. Arsenal have got so many good players and Birmingham were willing to give me a chance."
Muamba will have to be content with being a spectator when Blues look to clinch the Coca-Cola Championship title at Preston on Sunday after his sending-off against Sheffield Wednesday.
He said: "I will be there on Sunday because I want to finish with a medal. I will be there to cheer the boys on. It will be great to have a medal because there are not many winners in football these days.
"It is something I would treasure for the rest of my life."
Meanwhile, striker Cameron Jerome has revealed his delight at repaying the faith shown in him by Bruce with the goals which ultimately steered the midlands club back to the Premiership.
Jerome has endured a difficult time after moving from Cardiff for £3million last summer since being sent off as a substitute on the opening day of the campaign against Colchester.
But he made a different sort of impact from the bench against Wolves and Sheffield Wednesday with the crucial goals on both occasions.
Jerome said: "The gaffer brought me in and I will never forget that and he has stuck by me all the time since I've been here.
"I've had a bit of a difficult time but the gaffer has kept his confidence in me, which I thank him for, and he and the club deserve to go straight back up.
"I've been disappointed with the season personally because I've felt I've not performed as well as I can do.
"It took me a while to settle in but I'm glad I've done the business when it matters in the last couple of games. It's been vital to us, the catalyst behind a couple of vital wins, so I'm pleased about that."
Bruce was at his lowest ebb in October when fans called for him to be sacked after the home reversal by Norwich when Birmingham slipped down to ninth in the table.
But Jerome believes his positive messages to the players proved the spark for an upturn in fortunes.
The England Under-21 international said: "I think it was in October when the times were hard for Steve Bruce and people were calling for his head but he turned it around and we went 13 games unbeaten.
"He said to the players 'we've got the squad to do it, we just need to get the mentality right' and once we did that, we went on a fantastic run. I think that was the catalyst behind it.
"People wanted him out and he had brought every player in that dressing room to the club and we felt we owed it to him. We've shown that all season and all stuck together."
Meanwhile, Bruce will pick up the phone and say "thank you" to Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison - the player he bought and sold - after his goal helped clinch Birmingham's promotion.
Morrison was signed by Blues for a then club record £4.5million in the summer of 2002 before returning to Selhurst Park two and a half years later for less than half that amount.
He failed to live up to expectations with City but was the toast of their fans with the opening goal for the Eagles in Sunday's 2-0 win over Derby which meant Birmingham and Sunderland were promoted.
Bruce said: "I thought I had seen the last of Clinton! I knew there would be a twist in this promotion battle - but didn't expect him to provide it!
"He had an up and down time with Birmingham but is a smashing lad and he might be getting a phone call in the next few days from a grateful ex-manager!"
