The Sky Blues have lost their home ground advantage this season following the decision to raze and rebuild Sydney Football Stadium.

So far they've played home games at the SCG, Jubilee Oval and will soon will host at Leichhardt Oval too.

Most of their games this season have been played away so far as the club live out of suitcases for their new life on the road.

And today – ahead of this weekend's clash with Wellington Phoenix at Kogarah in Sydney's south – Ninkovic admitted: "It's not easy.

"It's not easy, but we are football players you know, and sometimes you don't have a choice – and we're happy to play there.

"The last game against Melbourne Victory was an unbelievable atmosphere with a good crowd and I hope tomorrow is going to be the same.

"But Kogarah is an unbelievable stadium - pitches, services, it's all unbelievable."

Sydney will see the return of new signing Siem de Jong who's been out of action with a hamstring injury since the Sydney derby at the SCG at the start of the season.

He will also be joined by loan signing Danny De Silva who may make his first start of the season.

Ninkovic said he was delighted to see the pair back in contention but warned it may still take a while for the refreshed squad to gel with the new faces replacing Bobo and Adrian Mierzejewski.

He added: "We lost some very important players but we signed some very good players.

"We need time because we changed 4/5/6 players and we need the time to understand each other on the pitch

"That's why it's very important that Siem and Danny came back – and it will be better every game."
