Victory will play in their sixth Grand Final on Saturday as they look to thwart Newcastle Jets’ fairy-tale season on their own turf.

The Big V had to get there the hard way as Terry Antonis went from villain to hero, giving away a disastrous last minute own goal, before scoring the winner in extra-time.

Broxham is currently a one-club player and has been involved in three championships, but said the semi-final against Sydney will be one to look back on when he retires.

“I haven’t played in a game like that,” Broxham said on Tuesday.

“I’ve played in extra-time, penalties, but I think the way we conceded in the last second of regular time and then winning at the end of extra-time is something I haven’t experienced before.

“There were a lot of emotions because you win a game, but you’ve got another game to play. We enjoyed the night for a few hours after and then we had to shift our focus really quickly.

“It’s got to be up there. It’s one of the craziest, most entertaining games I’ve played in.”

Broxham also praised Antonis’ overall contribution this season, after coming in during the January transfer window in place of Mark Milligan.

Antonis was seen crying both after the own goal and the winner and Broxham said it showed his passion for the game.

“He’s a great bloke in the change room, I couldn’t be happier for him,” he said.

“He was obviously needed. We’ve lost some players during the year through transfers and injury.

“Terry coming to the club was very timely, so he’s been a great no.6 for us, his tackles, he's technically good, he’s fit, gets about and scores goals.

“What more can you want from him? He’s been great for us in the last few months.”
