After an unsettled week in Brisbane, which saw Charlie Miller depart the club, Roar appeared intent to take a cautious approach to this clash, the Queenslanders defending grimly against a tide of Glory attacks in the first half.

Against the run of play, Luke DeVere opened the scoring for Brisbane just after the break, but despite some nervous moments, Glory substitute Harnwell, playing his first match since round 7 after suffering a knee injury, was on hand to slip home a scrappy goal.

Roar stopper Griffin McMaster should have done better, the goalkeeper allowing Harnwell's shot to slip through his hands and go in off the post.

But McMaster redeemed himself with a spectacular late save off a Todd Howarth shot that saw Brisbane secure a share of the points.

The draw sees Perth remain fifth on the A-League table ahead of a difficult away trip, having won just once in the last seven matches, while Brisbane slip to eighth.

The pattern for the first half appeared set as early as the sixth minute when Roar were forced to defend a good cross from Adriano Pellegrino on the right.

Even at that stage, the visitors, shorn of Danny Tiatto, Matt McKay and Miller's creativity, appeared intent on defending grimly and catching Glory with rapid-fire counter-attacks as they did just a minute later when a long ball from DeVere was nodded down by Sergio van Dijk into the path of Mitch Nichols who blasted wildly from a good position.

Aside from a netted effort by Henrique who was miles offside, that was about Roar's best chance for the half as they were pushed further and further back by the Glory attacks.

Perth enjoyed their best chance in the 17th minute as Naum Sekulovski whipped in a cross from the left.

But striker Branko Jelic could only nod the ball against the bar from a good position, while Pellegrino's downward header from the rebound was clutched by McMaster.

As Roar defended so deeply, Glory were allowed almost free reign in possession through the midfield and the hosts knocked the ball around without any pressure.

But their final crosses into the box were repeatedly stymied by Brisbane's solid defence.

Glory were made to pay for their missed opportunities seven minutes after the break as Brisbane opened the scoring against the run of play.

Once again, it was a counter-attack that unlocked Perth's defence as Jelic lost possession in the forward third leading to van Dijk earning a corner down the other end moments later.

Henrique's corner found Josh McCloughan at the far post and the defender nodded it down for DeVere to prod it home from a metre out.

Having gone behind, Glory appeared to lose their rhythm and Brisbane took the opportunity to press for a second.

Van Dijk appeared their most dangerous attacking outlet.

The Dutchman delivered a dangerous cross in the 56th minute that Tando Velaphi did well to punch away before coming within inches of scoring 10 minutes later when his bouncing, long-range attempt was denied by a furiously back-peddling Velaphi.

It was up to the Glory substitutes, though, to do the business and bring their team back into the game.

Twelve minutes from time Howarth sent in a well-flighted cross from the left, finding Pellegrino, whose knock-down header fell perfectly for Harnwell to score through a scuffed attempt that slipped under McMaster.

McMaster almost conceded the winner in the 84th minute when he again didn't take a regulation grab cleanly, his weak punch coming off Mile Sterjovski and almost going into goal.

Brisbane had a superb chance to take the lead when van Dijk took possession in a good position, but the striker couldn't control and Glory lived again.
