The Bosnian was full of admiration for his counterpart Ange Postecoglou and praised the Socceroos for their attacking display.

Halilhodzic was wary of the homework which was done on his Japanese side and admitted he had done his own but stopped short of revealing Australia’s “weak point”.

“I’m sure our colleague (Postecoglou) of Australia was watching our match and they are analysing our weak points, I know Australia very well,” Halilhodzic said. “I know they’re quality, they have power, they have discipline.

“They have weak points as does every team, I told the weak point to our players to prepare for tomorrow’s game.”

Japan boast a squad full of European talent including Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City), Shinji Kagawa (Borussia Dortmund) and free kick specialist Keisuke Honda (AC Milan).

Halilhodzic said the Australian crowd would play a big factor in motivating both sides.

“Tomorrow will have a different type of game of normal, because we control the game frequently, we’ll play against a team that’ll possibly put us under high pressure,” he said.

“They’ve got plenty of players from overseas they are very impressive physically. Having a home makes the pressure, stronger and that’s a rare situation for us.

“I spoke about that and I prefer tactically players for this situation, we want to avoid the surprises.

“At this moment I think the whole team knows each other, so there won’t be big surprises. The small details, and the concentration and the success in different situations will decide the game.”
