The win came courtesy of goals from Seiichiro Maki and Naohiro Takahara.

Playing the first of three matches to prepare for this summer's Asian Cup, Japan had Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Takahara in the side for the first time since Ivica Osim took charge last July.

Defender Yuji Nakamura also made his return to the side for the first time since last summer's World Cup in Germany.

And Japan opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Takahara was fouled on the left side of the pitch, Shunsuke Nakamura sent a pin point free-kick into the area for Maki and the JEF United Chiba forward rose highest to head the ball into the net.

The Japanese extended their lead soon after the break when Shunsuke Nakamura found Nakazawa from a free-kick, who then played the ball to Takahara in the area and the striker made no mistake to blast it into the back of the net.

It proved to be a comfortable win for the hosts in the end, with Peru managing just two real chances throughout, first from an Ismael Alvarado header in the 25th minute and then a Martin Hidalgo free-kick in the 76th minute.
