PSV defeated Willem II Tilburg 3-0 with Jason playing 85 minutes of his last match in the Eredivisie before heading to the A-League and Gold Coast United.

Socceroo Brett Holman was absent from the squad for the Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar as they defeated Heerenveen 3-1. Nikita Rukavytsya was also absent for Twente's final league outing where they lost 1-0 to Ajax Amsterdam although Ruka may get another chance with Twente playing the Dutch Cup final against Herenveen next weekend.

Former Socceroo Zeljko Kalac made a rare appearance for AC Milan on Sunday in the Italian Serie A. Spider kept goal for Milan in a virtual play-off for second place against Juventus which they drew 1-1 despite Milan finishing the match with 10 men.

AC Milan are now seven points adrift of Inter Milan at the top of the table. Victory next week for Jose Mourinho's Inter will see them crowned the Serie A champions.

Elsewhere in the Serie A Mark Bresciano came off the bench in the 10th minute for Palermo. The men in pink had the opportunity to move into the last Europa League spot in the Serie A table but slipped up losing 1-0 to Siena.

In Saturday's matches Vinnie Grella played the full shift and helped Blackburn to secure Premier League status. Blackburn defeated Portsmouth 2-0 to reach the 40 point mark in the competition and ensure Socceroos Grella and Brett Emerton continue to play top flight football next season.

Richard Garcia started for Hull when they hosted Stoke City. Garcia had an opportunity to open the scoring when he created a shooting chance by bringing the ball down onto his chest but the keeper saved his shot.

Richard had another chance with a firm header early in the second half but was again stopped by the keeper as Hull lost 2-1. Hull are now hovering above the relegation zone and are dependant on the fortunes of Middlesbrough and Newcastle below them.

Mark Schwarzer's Fulham leapfrogged West Ham into the final Europa League place when they defeated Aston Villa 3-1. Schwarzer produced some fine saves including stopping an Ashley Young shot at his near post when the game was still at 1-1.

Everton missed the opportunity to leapfrog Aston Villa into 5th place when they drew with Tottenham. Cahill was dangerous as usual when he fired just wide from 25 yards and later tried the keeper with header but the match ended 0-0.

Lucas Neill played the full shift for West Ham but they lost 3-0 to Liverpool.

Neil Kilkenny played the full 90 for Leeds in their League One playoff semi final with Millwall but Leeds relinquished the first leg advantage to Millwall by losing 1-0.

In the Scottish Premier League Scott McDonald's Celtic fell behind Rangers on the table after losing 1-0 to them in the Old Firm derby.

Josh Kennedy's fine run with German Bundesliga side Karlsruhe ended this weekend when they lost 4-0 to Borussia Dortmund. Kennedy had the chance to put Karlsruhe on level terms in the first half when he beat the fullback and the keeper but fired his shot into the post.

Michael Petkovic's Sivasspor let their lead of the Turkish Super Lig slip when they lost 2-1 to Istanbul Buyuksehir BSK.

Bruce Djite and James Troisi both featured for Genclerbirligi as they defeated Genclerbirligi OFTAS 3-1, Mile Jedinak was absent with an injury. Harry Kewell came off the bench to play the last few minutes of injury time for Galatasary as they defeated Ankaragucu 1-0.

Carl Valeri's Grosseto lost 2-0 to Rimini in the Serie B after finishing the match with 9 players. Luke Wilkshire played the full shift for Dinamo Moscow but they lost 2-1 to CSKA Moscow. Mark Rudan played the full shift for Swiss club FC Vaduz but they lost 4-2 to Neuchatel Xamax.
