The Socceroo superstar played 10 years in the Netherlands, making 160 appearances with Dutch clubs Ajax Amsterdam, De Graafschap, FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven including Eredivisie Championships and UEFA Champions League experience,

"When I first heard about the game, it was a great feeling," Culina said today at Sydney Football Stadium.

The Netherlands are currently placed third in the FIFA World Rankings behind Brazil (1st) and Spain (2nd).

"For them (Netherlands) to come out to Australia, and for the Australian public to see a top world class team in action, is fantastic for everyone. I think the Australian public is going to see a great game with great players.

"You only have to mention a few names like Arjen Robben, Wesley Snyder and the likes of these world class players. To have them playing in our own backyard is unbelievable."

Add to that the Dutch flavour to Australia's national coaching structure and little wonder the game is selling very fast.

Officials tell au.fourfourtwo.com the expanded 46,000 capacity of the SFS is likely to be fully tested, making this potentially the biggest ever attendance for a football game at the ground.

The previous largest crowd was 1993's Argentina World Cup qualifier.

Before the Dutch arrive, Culina and his Gold Coast United have A-League commitments as they look to continue their blistering start to the season.

This weekend, Jason Culina will come up against the side coached by his father Branko: Newcastle Jets.

Culina junior was keen to downplay the unique family connections to this intriguing fixture, but added with a smile: "I'm actually staying at his house tonight!

"For me and dad it's just three points at stake. We've come up against each other before when he was with Canberra Cosmos and I was playing for Sydney United.

"And I did score in that game. Thought I'd mention that!"
