Aston Villa has confirmed new signing Mile Jedinak will be available for next weekend’s league game ahead of Socceroos duty.
Jedinak missed Villa’s goalless draw against Derby County on Saturday as he was yet to receive his international work permit after joining the club from Crystal Palace.
The Australia skipper is due to link up with the Socceroos squad next week for the side’s opening final round 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and UAE.
Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo said: "It's just a work permit that hasn't come through. Hopefully it will be done in the next few days."
The club’s chairman Tony Xia later confirmed on Twitter he expected Jedinak’s registration to be completed on Tuesday.
Jedinak’s availability for Saturday’s Championship clash with Bristol City will be a boost ahead of international duty.
The 32-year-old midfielder did play a full game in Palace’s opening Premier League fixture against West Bromwich last week.
