Mile Jedinak’s Aston Villa continue to improve following his return from injury after recording a 2-0 win over Bailey Wright’s Bristol City in the Championship overnight.
Jedinak returned from a groin complaint last week in a 2-0 loss to high flying Newcastle, before helping Villa to wins over Derby and now Wright’s struggling City.
The Australian captain played the full 90 minutes in his defensive midfield role, while Wright also put in a full shift.
The Birmingham Mail rated Jedinak a 7/10, writing: “Worked hard and made Villa tick but gave away a few too many fouls. Villa are definitely a better side when he plays.”

Elsewhere in England overnight, 21-year-old Australian defender Tom Beadling, who is on loan at Bury from Premier League club Sunderland, made his debut.
Beadling put in a full shift in defence alongside Cameron Burgess as Bury won 2-1 over Coventry City, who had Andy Rose on the bench.
James Meredith and Bradden Inman both played full games for their clubs, while Aiden O’Neill played 78 minutes for Oldham. Chris Herd was absent for Gillingham.
