Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak has provided an assist from inside his own half as Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Brentford in England's Championship overnight.
In the 18th minute, Jedinak spread play with a delightful long ball which released Jonathan Kodija on the right flank.
Kodija still had plenty to do, cutting inside before unleashing a fine left-foot strike to open the scoring.
Jedinak played the full 90 minutes as Brentford, who were without injured Aussie Callum Elder, levelled late.
The match was Jedinak's second start for Villa, since moving from Crystal Palace late last month.
He sat on the bench in Saturday's draw with Nottingham Forest after picking up a knock on Socceroos duty, which also forced him to miss the 1-0 win in UAE.
In the UEFA Champions League, Robbie Kruse was absent altogether as Bayer Leverkusen blew a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with CSKA Moscow.
In the AFC Cup, ex-Newcastle Jets midfielder Cameron Watson put in a full shift as Indian club Bengaluru edged Singaporean outfit Tampines Rovers 1-0.
In China's Super League, Dario Vidosic had to be replaced after 39 minutes, with Michael Thwaite stepping in, as Liaoning Whowin lost 2-0 to Beijing Guoan.
