Jennings recently returned to Australia after a stint in the UK with Wrexham.

"It's a great feeling committing my future again to a professional club so that I can continue to train and push myself at a high level with maturity and in a professional manner," he told FourFourTwo.

"Signing with the Jets is a huge achievement for me and my family and I am vey grateful for the opportunity I have been given.

Jennings is hoping his time in the NYL set-up can help kick-start a career in the A-League.

"My goal at the club is definitely to work my way up by getting myself into the first-team squad and earning a professional contract but I also want to dominate in the youth and really achieve a lot individually and as a team in the upcoming season," he said.

"Hopefully by doing this I can really make a name for myself within the club."

The young forward has also recently been called up by the Fijian national team. Jennings has previously represented Fiji at Under-20 level.

"This is a big moment for me and a huge achievement as it is my first senior international call-up and hopefully I can prove myself at senior international level.

Fiji is preparing for the Oceania World Cup qualifiers. The Pacific nation will take on the All Whites first and Jennings is eyeing the chance to be involved.

"At the moment there are no friendly's or qualifiers coming up until next year in March where we will be playing New Zealand in our first World Cup qualifier," the Sydneysider said.

"Although it's not in the immediate future, I am very excited for theĀ  opportunity in the World Cup qualification campaign and to make my senior international debut at the same time.

"In preparation the selected squad are required to come together for training camps however I'm fortunate enough that Fiji Football are very supportive and understanding of my current commitments with the Newcastle Jets, allowing me to presently train with my club until any major matches and friendlies have been organised."
