Lee has now bagged 14 goals from 14 games in the league and continued his run against the league's cellar dwellers with a second half brace after Brazilian midfielder Eninho broke the deadlock with a free-kick just after the half-hour.

His first came seven minutes after the break and then the former Middlesbrough striker made it three with a minute to go.

"It was physically tough for us," said Jeonbuk coach Choi Kang-hee.

"We played in the cup against Jeju on Wednesday but we overcame that to win. We also have struggled to train because of the heavy recent rain.

"Scoring the first goal was all important and after that we were able to control the game."

Jeonbuk jump from third to first, passing previous leaders FC Seoul, who are in action on Sunday, and Gwangju Sangmu who lost 1-0 at home to Jeju United.

Cho Hyung-jae got the only goal of the game after ten minutes.

AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Pohang Steelers picked up their fifth successive win beating Gyeongnam 2-0.

Macedonian forward Stevica Ristic scored in the first minute while Yoo Chang-hyun sealed the win late on. Pohang move up into fourth place.

Champions Suwon Samsung Bluewings continued their revival with their third win in five games, a 1-0 home victory over Daejeon Citizen. Ha Tae-gyun's deflected shot after 13 minutes won the game.

Elsewhere, Chunnam Dragons defeated Busan I'Park 3-2 and Ulsan Hyundai Horang-I drew 0-0 against Seongnam Ilhwa.
