BILLED AS… Glory out to protect their Fortress Perth unbeaten record

IN REALITY… A fizzle in the drizzle where both sides lacked any sizzle to seize the game and win the points. Glory tried hardest to score but it was a bit of a goalless yawnfest with some dismal finishing despite some very good balls into promising positions courtesy of the Glory midfield. Jets tried to score on the counter but lacked the killer touch in front of goal. Glory were always a danger but it wasn’t their day.

THE GOOD… The new Perth Glory strike force of Mate Dragicevic and Nikita Rukavytsya looked like it might be a force to be reckoned with in games to come even if it was just a little raw against the Jets.

THE BAD… David Tarka hit the ground like a sack of spuds just 15 minutes into the new season with what looked like a torn hamstring, adding to Glory’s heavily populated injury list that already includes new signing Hayden Foxe.

THE UGLY… The Jets attack was sadly missing Milton Rodriguez and Nicky Carle. Joel Griffiths tried, but they’ll be praying Mario Jardel comes through for them.

THEY SAID WHAT… “We didn’t come just for the draw. We’re an entertaining team and wanted the win but it doesn’t always go the way you want it.” Mark Bridge tries to spin the counter attack tactic as "entertaining"…

THE FALLOUT… Perth keep their proud unbeaten record since last October - but at what cost to the fans?
