Sevilla looked set to record a famous victory and end Madrid's perfect home record this season as they built a 2-0 lead during last night's match, but Manuel Pellegrini's side staged a stunning second-half recovery to take the win.

Two goals in four minutes from Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos brought Madrid back on level terms just after the hour mark, and then Rafael van der Vaart popped up in injury time to seal a memorable 3-2 victory for the Whites.

Jimenez said: "For me this Madrid side is electric. They have a number of high-quality players. It's incredible.

"This team looks very good. We got ahead in the scoring but this is the best Madrid team I've seen in recent years.

"We kept our shape, we battled hard but it was impossible to stop this Real Madrid, who have so many great players."

Sevilla goalkeeper and captain Andres Palop, who was kept busy throughout the match as Madrid launched attack after attack, said: "It was a difficult night. They had a lot of chances. I thought that at 2-0 up we would be able to go on and win, and we're annoyed for having conceded the winning goal in the 92nd minute.

"We worked hard and had the game that we had to have, although there are things to improve. It's painful defeat, although there is something of a moral victory."
