AUSTRALIAN teenage centre-half Bailey Wright is set to make his English Championship debut on Saturday when Preston North End journey to Coventry City.
Wright, a 17-year-old Melbourne-born defender, has impressed for Preston's under-18s and reserves side and now looks set for his senior debut.
Preston boss Darren Ferguson confirmed the team were short on central defenders, with regular duo Elliott Ward and Youl Mawene unavailable, paving the way for Wright.
"Young Bailey, the centre half, will be involved on the bench on Saturday, he has done very well and trained very well," Fergson told the pne.com.
"Every time that I have seen him he has impressed me, he has a fantastic attitude.
"Liam Chilvers and Sean (St Ledger) are the only centre halves that we can use with Elliott Ward being unavailable and Youl being in France, so Bailey will come in and I have no problem with that whatsoever.
"I have no problem sticking him in, he has got a great temperament and I have to say that is the one thing I can say about the young lads that have been involved, they have got good temperaments and that's what you need."
Wright, who has represented Australia at under-17's level, has been with the Lilywhites since July last year.
