The Socceroos will field an understrength team with Vince Grella, Tim Cahill, Jason Culina, Craig Moore, Brett Emerton, John Aloisi, Josip Skoko and Harry Kewell all absent through injury or club commitments.

China, in contrast, will field their strongest team possible as they look to rebuild confidence after dropping to 75 in the latest world rankings.

But Viduka is confident the young players who will come into the side will give a good account of themselves against their experienced opponents.

"I was speaking to (Chinese defender) Sun Jihai after we played Manchester City last weekend and he was saying they'll be fielding the best team they possibly can," Viduka told the South China Morning Post.

"We've got a lot of players missing who would normally make the starting line-up, but it's an opportunity for the young players coming through to take their chance."

A-League's MVP Nicky Carle will be handed the opportunity to impress for Australia, while Simon Colosimo, Michael Beauchamp and Jacob Burns will also feature.

Sun Xiang will not figure for China due to a knee injury while Li Weifeng has been dropped as punishment for collecting six red cards in the past 14 months.
