Brisbane Roar lost 1-0 to Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium in their last match, making it three losses in a row and six goals conceded without response for Aloisi's men.

Brisbane - who have been ravaged by injury this season - had chances to snatch a point against the high-flying Jets, but with over five hours since their last goal, had little confidence and showed their frustration.

"I think that it's a welcome distraction...in terms of players looking forward to the Champions League," Aloisi said.

"We know it's a busy period in terms of games, but players that have been out will get a chance to play."

Brisbane currently sit second last in the league with three wins and only thirteen points. Their home crowds have tumbled this season, reducing by almost 5,000 people since last year's campaign as fans blame the coach and club ownership for their lack of success.

Aloisi has finished third in his last two seasons at the Roar, but has been punished for some poor recruitment in the offseason, with one of the oldest squads in A-League history proving a tired, injury-prone outfit.

"We've got a qualifier on the 23rd, hopefully we get through that and then go to China," he continued.

"We've seen in the past with teams that have struggled to start the season well that Champions League comes at a good time and gives them a boost, not only in the Champions League but the league as well."
