New Wellington signing Richard Johnson is set to fulfill his new contract after being given a suspended sentence and avoiding an eight-month prison sentence.
The 33-year-old has also been fined for his drink driving conviction after being arrested on March 28. Johnson’s blood alcohol reading was almost four times above the legal limit and worsened the situation after attempting to flee.
Johnson and Wellington Phoenix bosses will nut out the final details of his deal in coming days, paving the way for him to formally join the team to prepare for the upcoming pre-season tournament and A-League season.
