Pavel Pogrebnyak scored a hat-trick while Clint Dempsey added a double in the terrific victory.

And after Fulham moved to eighth on the English Premier League table, Jol hailed his 'outstanding' team.

"It was a perfect day because before the game we talked about how Wolves were fighting for their lives and to play like we did, especially in the first half, was outstanding," Jol told Sky Sports.

Jol reserved special praise for Pogrebnyak and revealed that talks are underway to try and extend the striker's loan spell from Stuttgart.

"We're talking to four or five players about new deals," he said.

"You want to keep your best players and I think he is certainly one of them. I never worry about these things. I am only happy that we made the right decision to sign him because you never know."

"There are so many strikers on the market and you have to get them when they are not at their peak. We certainly got him when he wasn't on his peak, but he is now so I am happy with that."

Wolves caretaker manager Terry Connor wants his side to respond immediately from the defeat as they approach a relegation six-pointer against Blackburn in their next fixture.

"We're always going to get a bloody nose now and again," Connor said.

"We're not the best team in the league and we're always going to get beat now and again."

"For me, it is how we bounce back from these things and certainly when we get back in we will be positive and try to work ourselves towards Blackburn on Saturday and go into it ready to win it."
