With scores locked at 1-1 heading into the final 15 minutes, Chris Baird gave Fulham the lead, before Reading substitute Garath McCleary levelled at 2-2 five minutes from full-time.

Fulham went ahead again through Dimitar Berbatov, but a last-gasp strike from Hal Robson-Kanu was enough to save a point for the home side at Madejski Stadium, much to Jol's disappointment.

"It is definitely two points dropped," the Dutchman told Sky Sports. "We should have won the game.

"When you score three goals away from home, against Reading, you deserve to win.

"We were the better team, we kept the ball and had more purpose to our play. But you have to exploit that."

Jol also revealed that Berbatov may have broken a rib during the match, and needed a pain-killing injection at half-time to continue playing.

"It was difficult, because I think Berbatov broke his rib," Jol said.

"We thought he may come off at half-time, but he had an injection to carry on."

Reading boss Brian McDermott was disappointed to once again be pegged back after scoring the first goal of the game, and paid tribute to the vocal home support.

"We have given everything today and our crowd nearly brought us over the line. We will move on from this to the next game," he said.

"We are taking leads in this league, that's four times now and that's a real positive. We are playing on the front foot, we just have to finish the job off.

"Having said that, we were 3-2 down with two minutes to go so we have to say a point gained.

"We had an opportunity after half-time to go 2-0 up. And if we take that we probably go on to win the game."
