AUSSIE Brad Jones is set to extend his stay at Middlesbrough after boss Gareth Southgate said he wants to hold onto the 'keeper.
Both Jones and Ross Turnbull, his rival for the number one jersey at Boro, are in line for a contract extension as they battle to fill Mark Schwarzer's boots.
The pair have been sharing responsibilities between the sticks since Schwarzer left for Fulham in the off-season.
Now boss Southgate has pledged to stand by them and keep them at the club.
He said today: "I’d like them both here.
"We feel they’re going to be top goalkeepers. They know that there’s no guaranteed number 1 and it’s developing into a great battle between them."
