The club which plays in the Football West Premier League saw both players come through their ranks and they are delighted to see them flourishing.

Both lads still drop in to the club whenever they are back in Australia and Joondalup first team coach Steve Amphlett is thrilled with their progress.

"It would be fantastic to see Shane and Rhys out there playing for Australia," Amphlett told au.fourfourtwo.com today. "They have both worked very hard and it's tremendous for everyone at the club to see them picked for their country and doing well for their clubs.

"Shane is a very humble lad and when Rhys is back he asks if he can come down and join in training."

A quick glance at the club's history shows that Lowry and Williams are not the only two success stories.

"We have had Chris Herd (Aston Villa) and Rostyn Griffiths (North Queensland Fury and ex Blackburn Rovers) while the likes of Scott Bulloch and Howard Fondyke are now with Perth Glory," said Amphlett.

In the case of Williams, it seems he might not be the only member of his family to go on to greater things from Joondalup roots. "We have his two brothers here (Ryan and Aryn), young lads who have both played for our first team," said Amphlett.

At least five other members of the club are overseas looking to earn deals at the moment so what is the secret?

"Good coaching staff," said Amphlett. "We have a structure in place right the way through from the youngest age group and people who just do it because they love their football."

The coach revealed that the A-League still has some way to go before his club's talented youngsters view Australia as the promised land to play professional football.

"At the moment, you've still got a lot of the youngsters, and their parents, still wanting to go overseas, but with time hopefully that will change," he added.

The coach said anyone interested in helping fund the club's production line of talent was more than welcome to get in touch.
