Mariners forward Jordan Murray has issued a call to arms for Central Coast fans believing this is the season that can set up a return to the glory days.
Murray is enjoying his second year in Gosford and is buoyant following their pre-season form, which saw them reach the semi-finals of the FFA Cup
The centre-forward loves the underdog tag at the Mariners and with some astute signings, he says Mariners fans should expect some big improvements under head coach Alen Stajcic.
"Get ready and get excited because we are going to prove people wrong!" Murray told FTBL.
"We're trying to prove a point. We want to show the fans of the Mariners we can make it back to the top of the ladder."
Murray says the team is working on building a winning culture off the field alongside its loyal fan base and believes a return to winning ways on the coast aren't too far away.
"Look at Leicester City, they've come from the bottom of the Premier League to win it," said Murray.
"Why can't the Mariners do it? We're going to let our football do the talking."

The Mariners finished as wooden spooners last season, and for three of the last four seasons, which saw Mike Mulvey shipped out in March in favour of Stajcic.
The former Matildas gaffer wasted no time in the off-season overhauling almost the entire squad to rejuvenate the club.
Former Newcastle Jets goalkeeper Mark Birighitti, Korean midfielder Eun-Seon Kim, a fit-again Tommy Oar and breakout star Sam Silvera could have Mariners mouths watering.
The Mariners begin their 2019/20 campaign away to Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday.
