Juanito's future at Real Betis is in the news with the 32-year-old's current contract with the Sevillian club due to expire next summer.

That has led to speculation about the Euro 2008-winning centre-back moving on, and Newcastle have been linked with a possible swoop.

However, Juanito's agent Tente Sanchez insists he has heard nothing from the Magpies, saying: "Absolutely nothing has come to me. If something comes, they will have to talk with Betis because he has contract with them until June."

Betis have been in discussions with Juanito about a new contract and the long-serving defender has said his priority is to stay at the Estadio Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, but so far no deal has been struck.

Sanchez says Juanito will give Betis first option before deciding whether or not to look elsewhere.

"We are not going to arrive at any agreement with anybody else until things are sorted out with Betis," Sanchez added in Diario de Sevilla:

"If this doesn't happen, other possibilities will be opened up and I'm talking about next year. If someone wants him now, they have it relatively easy - they have to talk with Betis.

"We've already had a meeting and at the start of January we will talk again to see how the situation is. The idea is to get in contact with each other and know what either party is proposing."
