“He's a nice guy and he has a good relationship with the guys,” the Brazilian star said at training on Thursday.

“Always when there's a new manager there is a difference and everyone has their own way to coach and he has his own way and we adapt very well to that.”

The mood at FC's training has lifted, says the playmaker, after last week's win over Central Coast. But there is a long way to go, cautions Juninho.

“The week after three points, the boys are always more relaxed and also we had a good game, too," he said.

“But we are still far away from the first spot [on the ladder], so we need two or three more wins to get closer to the side on top of the ladder.

“I think now we are concentrating more and we hope for a good game against Newcastle.”

Juninho's shoulder injury is almost completely healed but he's expecting the burly Jets backline to give him and the rest of the FC attack a rough ride on Saturday night.

He added: “Newcastle had a great game against Melbourne. Defensively they're very tough.

"I think we will find a hard game but we need to get the points. It will be a hard game to win.

"Brosquey does a great job upfront but also wide. He's scoring goals, he can hold up the ball. He's a great player already. He feels more comfortable.

“With Bridges, Brosquey and Corica, we need to play close together to make trouble.”
