SYDNEY marquee star Juninho has been ruled out of action until the New Year after scans revealed a chipped shin bone suffered in last week's exhibition match against LA Galaxy.
Coach John Kosmina had been hoping the Brazilian playmaker would be recovered in time for Friday night's crucial A-League match with Newcastle Jets but the scans showed the injury was worse than first thought.
Juninho picked up the injury as a result of a crunching tackle from LA Galaxy player Kevin Harmse at Telstra Stadium nine days ago.
