Tomi Juric is optimistic the injury he sustained in Sunday’s win with FC Luzern won’t affect his availability for next month’s World Cup qualifier in Thailand.
Juric had to be replaced shortly prior to half-time in Luzern’s come-from-behind 3-2 win at Lausanne in the Swiss Super League.
The substitution raised concerns Juric might be unfit for the 15 November qualifier against Thailand in Bangkok.
Juric, who scored a classy goal against St Gallen last weekend, has netted two goals in Australia’s past four World Cup qualifiers.
The 25-year-old was brought down by Lausanne defender Elton Monteiro as he shot on goal, hitting the woodwork.
Juric was unable to recover from the tackle, forcing him off prior to the break.
Luzern hasn’t revealed the specific injury but Juric was seen hobbling after the game.
The former Western Sydney Wanderers striker told the Luzern website: “It shouldn’t be too bad.”
