The Socceroos’ struggled in Bert van Marwijk’s first game in charge using a 4-2-3-1 formation and a new defensive set-up.

Ultimately they were dominated by the Norwegians and unable to create many scoring opportunities.

Juric, who came off the bench in Oslo, believes nerves played their part in the poor performance but feels positives can be taken from the match, as they prepare to tackle Colombia in London.

"You saw in the last game, a lot of boys were maybe a bit nervous,” he said.

"Maybe that lingered on everyone's mind but I don’t think it’s something to pay too much attention to. It's best to take each day as it comes, go about your business and you can only control what's in your hands.

"It’s not the way we want to have started under Bert's reign, but there were some positives to take out of it. Not the result, but there were patches in the game we did quite well in. Lot of areas to improve on, which is positive.

“I don't think we showed the full force of what we can really do. Every beginning is tough, we saw that, even when you get a new job, you are learning the ropes and not sure what is going on.

"There was a little bit of that and nerves from the boys, which ended with the result the other night.

"Bert wants to play football and I think we didn't implement his instructions on the pitch correctly.

"It we couldn't play out you go long, but I think we understood that to be too direct. Instead of taking a little more of our own initiative to play a more possession-type of football. I think you'll see an improvement in the next game.”

Andrew Nabbout started up front against Norway, and was replaced by Juric late in the second half. The striker is unsure if he will start at Craven Cottage against the South American nation.

“I can expect a lot of things but I never know what is going to happen,” he said.

“I’m sure there will be some changes. Whether that will involve me directly, I am not sure.”
