Juventus clinched their place in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday with a 5-3 win over Empoli earning them a 6-5 aggregate win.
The Turin giants knew they needed to win the second leg after going down 2-1 in the first encounter, and all looked to be going to plan early on when Marco Marchionni and Pavel Nedved had them 2-0 up after 10 minutes.
But the visitors responded well and pulled one back through Luca Antonini before drawing level on the stroke of half-time thanks to Nicola Pozzi.
Vincenzo Iaquinta put Juve ahead again five minutes after the interval but Pozzi's second of the night again pegged them back.
However, Iaquinta's second of the evening just after the hour mark edged the hosts ahead once more and then substitute Alessandro Del Piero kept his cool to convert from the penalty spot 12 minutes from time to secure Juve's passage into the last eight.
