Juventus will not make any signings in the January transfer window, club president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has announced.
The Turin side have decided not to reinforce the squad next month despite reports linking them with Udinese duo Gaetano D“Agostino and Christian Zapata.
"We will not be making any acquisitions or transfers in January," said Cobolli Gigli.
"For the time being, we are fine because we will recover great champions like Gianluigi Buffon and David Trezeguet in the new year."
Goalkeeper Buffon and striker Trezeguet have been sidelined for several months through injury but are set to return after the Christmas break.
Cobolli Gigli did reveal, however, he had met with Udinese sporting director Pietro Leonardi to discuss a number of Friuli players.
"I don't want to mention names but Udinese have a great squad list," said Cobolli Gigli.
"Udinese“s policy is to sell players in order to balance their books."
Cobolli Gigli also said he hoped for his side would build on a "splendid" 2008 in the new year, highlighting his desire for an extended Champions League run.
Juve, who progressed as winners of their group, will take on Chelsea in the last 16 of Europe's elite club competition.
"I hope the team goes as far as possible in the Champions League," said Cobolli Gigli, whose club have not won the trophy since 1995-96 campaign.
"We will do everything possible for that to happen."
Juve finished third in Italy's top flight last term and are very much in the race for the Scudetto this season.
Yesterday's 3-1 at Atalanta marked their 11th league triumph of the campaign and left Juve six points behind leaders Inter Milan going into the new year.
"We have concluded 2008 in the best possible way and it has been a splendid year," said Cobolli Gigli.
"I am satisfied of this Juve for what we have done in the Champions League so far and being second in Serie A."
Cobolli Gigli has hailed Juve captain Alessandro Del Piero, who struck his 252nd goal with the Bianconeri colours against Atalanta.
However, he believes this season's star has been Brazilian forward Amauri.
Amauri joined Juve in the summer from Palermo and is the team's top scorer this campaign with 11 goals struck in the domestic competition.
"Del Piero is simply unique," said Cobolli Gigli.
"But Amauri has been outstanding for us. He has played a crucial part in our success this season."
